CRC 1701 at “Nacht der Technik 2026”
CRC 1701 participated in the first “Nacht der Technik” (Night of Technology) (https://nacht-der-technik.de/bergisches-staedtedreieck/) jointly organised by VDI and VDE on May 8th, 2026 in Wuppertal, Remscheid and Solingen. Our interactive computer simulation “Herding dog & sheep” in building K at University of Wuppertal attracted many kids, students and scientifically interested adults. The simulation aims to illustrate the mathematical formulation of interacting particle dynamics and therefore to make the abstract mathematical terminology experienceable. Justin Dawa and Claudia Totzeck were happy to discuss details of the implementation and the mathematical background. The positive feedback shows that the collaboration between Mathematics and Informatics is an attractive and promising future perspective for students.
