B06: Multi-coupled port-Hamiltonian models for electromagnetic problems
Principal investigators:
Prof. Dr. Markus Clemens; Prof. Dr. Michael Günther
Project description:
This project develops, analyzes and simulates coupled discrete multi-model descriptions of realistic electromagnetic field problems. Progress in this area is crucial for our understanding of electromagnetic compatibility in complex systems such as electric cars. As opposed to current approaches, we preserve the port-Hamiltonian structure when coupling network descriptions and various electromagnetic and thermic models which results in a genuinely stable overall system. After appropriate discretization, they are also simulated numerically.
