Registration for the pH course "Numerics for port-Hamiltonian Systems" is open

The pH course 2026 is dedicated to Numerics for port-Hamiltonian Systems. 

We will discuss numerical methods for port-Hamiltonian ODE and DAE systems.

The first half is dedicated to numerical linear algebra concepts and techniques as they are required when solving eigenvalue problems and linear systems arising in connection with time integration for port- Hamiltonian systems. The focus is on advanced Krylov subspace techniques and structure preservation.

The second half is dedicated to numerical time integration of port-Hamiltonian ODE and DAE systems. In addition to Runge–Kutta based methods, the lecture discusses discrete gradient methods as well as operator splitting techniques tailored to the port-Hamiltonian framework.
